"Many years
ago when I was relatively
new to writing about music I penned a short piece on the Florida
pop-punk band Spider Monkey in which I stated, “Spider Monkey hits the
stage like a human explosion.” The band picked up that quote and used
it in their promotional materials for a long time, probably because it
was such a spot-on description of what their shows were like. Spider
Monkey singer Todd Horn has a new band these days called HORNIT, and
while they are considerably more polished than his previous outfit
there is still plenty of energy in the songs. HORNIT plays Charleston,
where I first saw them and wrote the quote above, on June 10th at the

HORNIT will be working with Nashville
producer and guitar virtuso, Jamey Perrenot on a debut HORNIT album.
Jamey has worked with Grammy Award winning artist and has produced such
artists as Leann Rhymes, Taylor Swift, Pantera, and many others. Jameys
extensive 30 year music career will play an instrumental part in the
direction of the HORNIT sound and production. Needless to say the band
is ecstatic and new music is being written with Jamey during the
summer.

HORNIT A ROCK PINK ROSTER BAND----------
HORNIT has
teamed up with ROCK PINK, a charity whose
mission is to raise breast health awareness and support local breast
cancer programs. HORNIT performed at Daytona Beach FL Boothill Saloon
on February 27, 2011 for its first ROCK PINK charity. HORNIT
will be appearing in more ROCK PINK productions for 2012. Stay tuned
